LPG Carburetor image | Gas Cyliner | Total Infotech and Telecoms Limited

So, it has been an interesting 2 weeks now, marketing and selling our 2.5Kw LPG (Cooking gas) carburetor converter.

With this carburetor kit, you can save money from using gas to power your generator. One of the major questions i get asked, is how long can a 1kg of gas power a generator and the truth is that it, it can last between 4 – 5 hours on the average.

This is just be way of intro and that is not even the reason i am making this post.

In marketing this product, we have met all manner of Nigerians and you hear very interesting perspectives about Nigerians. So, one of the most interesting part is about those that cast this general aspersion on all Nigerians as being scammers.

Ofcourse, you hear requests like can i pay on delivery, we say yes, but on the condition that you pay 75% upfront and we waybill to you or you come to our shop in Anfanni Ibadan and buy the item. So, you hear them shout, Nooooooo, Nigerians are scammers. We tell them too yes, that we agree. We now go further to ask, if they are Nigerians and they say Yes, we then remind them, that they said Nigerians are scammers, that is when it dawns on them, that they had made a mistake of making generalized statements. If you say Nigerians are scammers, it then means you are also a scammer. In some instances, some even apologize.

The question we must always ask ourselves, is if you do not trust a business that says they have a sales point, so you can come buy your product, why do you want the seller to trust you that does not visibly have a know location. A lot of buyers do not know what sellers go through with this “Pay on Delivery” mode of doing e-commerce. It is quite a tough one.

The moral is that, not everybody doing business in Nigeria is a scammer.
